Organizational Assessment Tool
The IDJ Organizational Assessment Tool is a survey and resource that businesses or organizations may use to assess in what ways the agency is
- succeeding in creating accessible services and in what ways the agency can improve accessibility;
- succeeding in contributing to prevention of violence against people with disabilities and in what ways the agency can improve;
- succeeding in implementing a trauma-informed approach and in what ways the agency could be more trauma-informed.
To achieve these goals the IDJ Organizational Assessment Tool includes a detailed checklist of policies and practices agencies my use to optimize accessibility, contribute to prevention, and provide trauma-informed services to all clients. The Tool also includes references and links to resources that organizations may find helpful as they continue to grow and improve. We encourage service agencies to use the tool once a year to access progress and identify areas of growth the agency is interested in focusing on for the next year. If any agency chooses to share their results with IDJ, we would be happy to provide guidance, support, and technical assistance.
There are three levels of engagement with Indiana Disability Justice. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and will be awarded until funding is depleted. Please submit applications and questions to: InDisabilityJustice@gmail.com.

History
In 2018 and 2019, IDJ worked on developing and improving the Organizational Assessment Tool. After several rounds of edits, IDJ invited a couple of agencies to pilot the Tool and provide feedback. Based on this feedback, IDJ has been working throughout 2020 to revise the tool and hopefully publish it for wide use by the end of 2020.
