Our Mission

We aim to support statewide efforts to prevent violence and enhance independence and wellness among people with disabilities. Our efforts are centered on the voices and actions of people with disabilities and it operates on a mix of practices including social justice, public health, and popular education. We are a group that is a work in progress and we are continually involving self-advocates, agencies, service providers, and caregivers. Please note: Indiana Disability Justice does not provide direct support for those experiencing violence. However, there are organizations who do. (Click HERE.)

Our Vision

The vision of Indiana Disability Justice is to create and support a state free of violence against people with disabilities where people with disabilities are supported in their independence, included in society, and recognized as a valuable part of society.

Our Values

– Violence is preventable.

– Every person has an important role to play and a valuable contribution to make moving Indiana towards a just and inclusive society.

– Advocacy–self and systems–creates pathways for inclusion and independents.

– Inclusive communities are better for everyone.
