Categories (What is the format of the post?)

  • Artwork: This category includes all posts that focus on highlighting artwork by people with disabilities.
  • Book or Paper Review: This category includes critical reflections and reviews of books or other print publications.
  • Educational: This category includes any posts with a primarily educational focus not already covered by other categories.
  • Event Review: This category includes all critical reflections and reviews of events such as conferences, workshops, webinars, community mobilization, etc. While many Event Reviews will focus on disability-focused events, some critical reflections on accessibility and implementation of disability justice at events with boarder or different focuses will also be included.
  • Media Review: This category includes critical reflections and reviews of movies, tv shows, songs, and other cultural productions.
  • Personal Stories: This category includes posts by disability advocates (self-advocates, providers, and caregivers) whose stories lend additional perspectives on education, advocacy, and disability justice. All stories will include content warnings.
  • Resources: This category includes all posts that are focused on providing resources such as infographics, tools, and resource lists.

Disability Community-Specific Tags (Does the publication focus on a particular sub-community?)

  • Chronic Illness: chronic lyme disease, HIV, HPV, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, Crones disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, etc.
  • Cognitive and Developmental Disabilities: down syndrome, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, fetal alcohol syndrome, etc.; sometimes referred to as “Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities”.
