Welcome to the Indiana Disability Justice’s statewide disability resource list! (Now with some nationwide resources!) This list initially includes a list of sexual violence prevention and intervention resources as well as disability services and self-advocates resources in Indiana.  Eventually we anticipate including additional lists of resources for a variety of health and human services resources.  Resources that function statewide are listed first in alphabetical order.  After statewide resources, regional resources are listed by county.  If you have additional Indiana resources that we are missing or want to provide corrections to the information provided here, please email your comments to InDisabilityJustice@gmail.com.

Note on Organizational Ableism: Some of the listed organizations may not use a social model of disability and even may promote harmful ideas about disability, such as the trope of people “suffering” from disabilities.  The task force unequivocally recognizes that the suffering most people with disabilities experience is as a result of erasure, marginalization, and inequity and the notable exception being chronic illness, which does often cause individual suffering as well as experiences of institutional harm).  Additionally, the Task Force realizes that we are all in a space of continuous learning and hope that our advocacy efforts will gradually support these organizations to focus on changing culture and inequity rather than holding negative views about disabilities and people with disabilities.  Therefore, we have done our best to include every disability-related organization, even if they promote some of these harmful views. Since Indiana is a rural state, we feel that people should have as much information about existing resources as possible.

How to Use This Resource List: The fastest way to find resources relevant to you is to scroll down to the county where you live (counties are listed in alphabetical order). Another way to find resources is to access this list on a computer and hold down “control” and tap the letter “f” (for PC) or hold down “command” and tap the letter “f” (on Mac). These keys will bring up a search bar and you can type any search term, such as the county or specific services. Then click “next” in the search bar to scroll through every found matching term.
